DAY 4

By way of a contrast this was an unproductive one, I managed to apply for a couple of jobs through Reed.com (now my CV is small enough to qualify) but that was about it.

I also watched King Kong on DVD and went and brought some muffins. Rock'n'Roll.

Domestic life is working out reasonably well, people seem happy enough to put up with me and so on, so thats one worry out the way.

DAY 3

Not an unproductive one, I walked to Windsor (Through Upton Park and Eton Playing Fields - where the Battle of Waterloo was won, apparently) and went to see the theatre, they got me a couple of shifts for the weekend, which whilst they won't make me rich, are at least something of help. This does slightly bugger my plans for the weekend as the moving of bits and peices will now have to be done in a day (this leaves no margin for error).

I am not feeling hugely optimistic about the prospects of work right now, but with a little bit of luck this will pass fairly quickly.

DAY 2

After a reasonably productive start yesterday dissolved into me getting pretty much nothing done - I was up reasonably early and got around to doing some bits and peices. Popped into the supermarket and sorted out my dinner, bumped into Tom on my way back to the house and he gave me a lift, he was going up to central London and asked if I wanted a trip out.

Ended up having a bit of a wander around the Marble Arch end of Oxford Street and had a couple of drinks at a bar there whilst reading the paper, Toms next stop was Harrods (where I had never been) so we both went down there and had a posh ice cream and looked at the expensive booze, All very civilised.

DAY 1

Right, I have decided to actually update this in order to keep track of my "progress" (or lack thereof) in finding a Job following a move back down south. I am also trying to kick the junk food / fizzy drink habits and It can't hurt to keep a note of my spectacular failure on that part :-).

So. Day 1, I managed (with the assistance of the lovely and highly professional Ms Buckley - whose services I can heartily recommend to all people in all circumstances) to update my CV and get it looking a little more presentable. I then had a wander into town to look at the various recruitment agencies and see what they had in store.

Slough seems to have a number of different agencies, but they all have the common problem of not being terribly friendly to people who are actually looking for work, the trend seems to be to push you toward their various websites, as such I think that approach may well be the way forward. Not quite sure what that'll be just yet mind you....

The being healthy is going fractionally better - aside from a bottle of sprite in town yesterday Its been all orange juice and green tea on the beverage front and not a takeaway in sight, more pasta and sandwiches (chorizo and cheese no less), so far so good as it were.

Its quite nice to be back around these parts, and everyone has been very friendly and so on, I'm still a little nervous about being able to get myself sorted out and into accomodation, but my supposition is that this is fairly normal. We shall see anyway.
